HERO Leadership Workshop
Workshop & Luncheon
Over 70 high schools are invited to help kick off their 2007-08 blood drive campaigns by taking part in the High School Leadership Workshop & Luncheon themed “Unleash the HERO in You.” Student blood drive coordinators, teachers, and advisors will attend the workshop to share their blood drive successes, challenges, and ideas with other high schools. This year the workshop will be held Thursday, September 18th at INBC Regional Headquarters in Spokane. The workshop theme will be 70's Disco featuring David's Pizza.
High School Coordinators learned successful campaign elements and strategies with help from INBC’s Recruitment Coordinators in a fun and supportive environment. Throughout the year, schools challenge each other as part of the High School H.E.R.O. Program. Recruitment Coordinators, with the help of other INBC staff members and local blood recipients, facilitated informative discussions.
Holly Martin, a senior at Priest River Lamanna High School, has a passion for giving back to her community. For two years, she has volunteered to be the Blood Drive Chair for her high school. “It’s super important because we really do make an impact,” said Holly. “We are truly saving lives and that is a big motivator for me and other students.”
INBC appreciates all who attended the workshop and extends best wishes to all of the region’s high schools who participate in the H.E.R.O Program and sponsor blood drives. For information regarding the workshop and its materials, please contact your INBC’s Recruitment Coordinator.
